Tai Chi is an ancient Chinese martial art. In these modern times, Tai Chi can help you to navigate the stress in life and become a healthier you.
Tai Chi was developed originally as a martial arts, and in these classes, you will be exposed to some of the uses. However, the emphasis will be on developing Qi 氣 through Tai Chi movements and Yiquan standing. With the balance of Yang and Yin Qi, you will improve your health and mental center.
Learn the art of Yielding 走化. You can learn a thousands way to hit people, or the principles to yield and (within limits :-)) they cannot touch you.
Improve your balance, lower your blood pressure. Improve your health. Learn Tai Chi.
To practice Tai Chi, beyond the basic body methods, forms, and push hand practice, is to harmonize Qi 氣, Yi (Mind’s intention) 意, and Shen 神. This is a reason why Tai Chi is known as one of the internal martial arts.
Richard learns from grandmaster Sam Tam, who is famous for his internal power and yielding skills.

Classes are held at the Palo Alto Mitchell Park on Saturdays 11:30 AM. Parking is limited on Saturdays so come by early and you might have to park on the streets.
